This is easier said than done. Nowadays, more and more people have access to an increasing amount of food. Another solution is to have people do more exercise, so that the calories eaten are less of a problem. This could be done by reducing the cost of keeping fit and by creating better infrastructure. Financing sports and exercise facilities could be pricey, but there are long-term savings as well as benefits if people are healthier as a result. If every neighbourhood had easily accessible sports and exercise facilities, people would be able to use them much more often.
